ClearwaterConnection
With a repertoire of over 200 songs spanning many decades, artists and genres, Bill Hansen and Doris Sotirellis of Clearwater Connection define their music as “Contemporary-Retro Americana.” The diversity of their material, including an occasional original, appeals to audiences of all ages. Nostalgic elements in their song selections induce lots of toe-tapping, swaying, and singing along. Wonderful harmonies are supported by tastefully arranged acoustic instrumentation that achieves a pure “un-plugged” sound. With their easy-going stage presence and humorous bantering, a warm rapport is instantly established with their audience. Standing ovations and repeat performances attest to the quality of a Clearwater Connection concert.
Bill's musical pedigree is quite diversified. He is a former artist-teacher and faculty co-chairman of the acclaimed Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, IL, where for many years, he taught guitar, and conducted classes and workshops in music theory. Bill has done studio work and arranged and produced recordings for other groups. He also adds his musical talents to other performers' club dates.
Doris has her musical whiskers, having performed in off-Broadway musicals and singing with various choral groups. But her true musical identity as a song stylist began to emerge during her stints with other performing groups.
The songs that we perform and have recorded, we believe, reflect the finest music that spans the decades, as well as genres.
